Rooms & Rates
1847 Blake House Inn Bed & Breakfast has five second-floor guest rooms and one first floor guestroom in the main house plus one first floor guest suite in our Carriage House (Innkeepers quarters, office, and laundry facilities are also in the Carriage House). All guest rooms have air conditioning. The Holly Room, Azalea Room, Rose Room & Carriage House Sycamore Suite have central heating. The Magnolia, Dogwood, & Lilac Rooms are heated via gas fireplaces.
All rooms have a private bathroom with plush bathrobes, a writing desk, extra seating, TV and DVD player, wireless internet access, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, and many other special amenities.
In the main house, there is a guest-only common area on the second floor complete with reading chairs and reading materials, DVD movies, and a game table and chairs with a wide selection of games for our guests to amuse themselves with.
Breakfast:
A full, two-course breakfast is included in the nightly room rate for all six rooms in the main house. Breakfast is served at 8:30 am (M-F) & 9:00 am (Saturday-Sunday). For the Sycamore Suite in the Carriage House, if you wish to enjoy the full breakfast, please add $10 per person to the nightly room rate. Our first course is always a fruit dish, sometimes hot like a fruit crisp, cinnamon baked grapefruit or baked pears and sometimes cold like banana breakfast sundaes or a fruit and granola yogurt parfait. Our second course is your hot entree such as a southwestern baked omelet with sausage, a fruit-stuffed French toast bake, or spinach and artichoke eggs benedict. When making your reservation, please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and we will try to work around your needs.
Room Rates:
All room rates are based on double occupancy. Any additional person (age 5 and older) over the double occupancy in any room in the main house incurs an extra $20.00 per night charge. The additional person charge for the Sycamore Suite is $10.00 per person per night. Extended stay (over seven nights), single, and corporate rates are available. We are both child and dog-friendly. We welcome dogs in 6 of our guestrooms: the Holly, Magnolia, Dogwood, Lilac, and Rose Rooms plus the Sycamore Suite.

Online room rates are based on double occupancy and are subject to change at any time. Room rates for all but the Sycamore Suite include a full breakfast each morning at 8:30 am (M-F) or 9:00 am (Sat. & Sun.). Guests in the Sycamore Suite who wish to have the full breakfast should add $10 per person to the nightly room rate and notify the Innkeeper the day before. Local lodging (4%) and sales (7%) taxes are not included in the nightly rate and will be added to the full bill. Weekends (Friday nights and Saturday nights) have a 2 night minimum requirement. Some major holiday periods (i.e., Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc.) will have a 3 night minimum requirement. For last minute reservations, if you wish to break our minimum night requirement, there is a $50 charge. |

Sycamore Suite (king + full sofabed)
The Sycamore Suite, located on the first floor of the Carriage House, is perfect for families with children, people looking for an extended stay, and small groups. The suite, which can accommodate up to 4 guests, includes a large bedroom with a king bed and a separate living room with a full-size sofabed. We also have a toddler bed and a rollaway bed for children. Any additional person (age 5 and older) over the 2-person occupancy in the Suite incurs an extra $10.00 per night charge.
The bathroom is spacious and the kitchenette has a small refrigerator, oven/stove, coffee maker, and a table with four chairs. If you wish to enjoy the hot breakfast in the main house, please notify the innkeeper at least 24 hours in advance and add $10 per person (age 5 and older) to the nightly rate.
For those staying longer than seven nights, you will have access to a washer and dryer. Guests will enjoy the same amenities as those staying in the main house, including fluffy bathrobes, cable TV, and wireless internet access. Additionally, you will have the privacy and space of a larger area without the hassle of stairs. Please note: There are two steps down into the bathroom so this Suite is not wheelchair accessible.
The style theme of the living room is Asian, done in green, olive, and brown. The bedroom incorporates brighter colors like peach, cream and yellow. The bathroom is bright white with splashes of blue and green.
The Sycamore Suite is dog-friendly and we provide a crate (for small to medium-sized dogs), a large dog bed, bowls, and toys in the Suite for our four-legged guests. The first dog in a room incurs a $15.00 per day pet fee. The second dog is charged $10.00 per day. More than 2 dogs in a room must be authorized in advance with the Innkeeper. Please be aware that while cats are not permitted in the Sycamore Suite, there are cats that live in the Innkeepers quarters in the Carriage House. If you have cat allergies, we can recommend other non-pet friendly B&Bs.

Rose Room (queen)
The Rose Room is a first floor room with 14′ ceilings, the original hardwood floors, and its own exterior exit. This room has an antique queen Victorian bed with double pillow-top mattresses which will make you feel like you’re floating on air.
The seating area includes a bunkbed with a queen-size futon couch on the bottom and a twin bed on top. This room can sleep up to 3 guests. Any additional person (age 5 and older) over the double occupancy in the Rose Room incurs an extra $20.00 per night charge.
There is a gas fireplace, writing desk, and coffee table. In addition to the fireplace, this room includes central heat and a/c. The handicap accessible bathroom features a whirlpool tub with shower fixtures.
The colors of the room combine dark and medium shades of green, tan, and dark reds. We have made this room dog friendly and there is a trunk at the foot of the bed with many pet amenities including blankets, a bed, bowls, and toys. The first dog in a room incurs a $15.00 per day pet fee. The second dog is charged $10.00 per day. More than 2 dogs in a room must be authorized in advance with the Innkeeper.

Lilac Room (king + daybed)
The Lilac Room is a large bedroom and features a king size bed, an antique daybed (appropriate for a child or small adult), antique writing desk, a gas fireplace framed in ornamental ceramic tiles, cable TV and DVD player, and wireless internet. This room can sleep up to 3 guests. Any additional person (age 5 and older) over the double occupancy in the Lilac Room incurs an extra $20.00 per night charge.
There are two French doors leading to a small, private balcony where guests can enjoy the sunset. This room also has a spacious bathroom with an antique cast iron clawfoot tub and shower. The Lilac Room is decorated in light and dark shades of purple, green, and yellow for a light and bright feel. You’ll soon see why this is one of our most popular rooms.
Dogs ARE permitted in the Lilac Room and we keep a small bed, blanket, bowl, and toys in the closet should your dog wish to use them. The first dog in a room incurs a $15.00 per day pet fee. The second dog is charged $10.00 per day. More than 2 dogs in a room must be authorized in advance with the Innkeeper.

Dogwood Room (king)
This spacious room features a king size iron scroll and wood bed and can sleep up to 2 guests. The tongue and groove 12′ ceiling, gas fireplace, antique armoire, cable TV and DVD player, chaise lounge, and antique writing desk with mosaic top are enough to keep guests coming back time and again. A small private bathroom with shower complete the package. The colors of the Dogwood Room incorporate several shades of blue with browns and black iron highlights.
Dogs ARE permitted in the Dogwood Room and we keep a dog bed/basket, blanket, bowl, and toys in the room in case your dogt wishes to use them. The first dog in a room incurs a $15.00 per day pet fee. The second dog is charged $10.00 per day. More than 2 dogs in a room must be authorized in advance with the Innkeeper.

Magnolia Room (2 twin beds)
This room’s unique feature is a fabric canopy 12′ high ceiling. Also adding to the coziness of the Magnolia Room are the gas fireplace, antique velvet couch, writing desk, and Italian armoire. This room is specifically set up with two tall twin beds for single travelers and those requesting separate beds.
To round out your experience, we have also included cable TV and DVD player (we keep a selection of DVD movies for guests to watch). Lastly, you will enjoy privacy in your own bathroom with shower. The soothing colors in this room combine various shades of green, yellow, and peach.
Dogs ARE permitted in the Magnolia Room and we keep a basket in the armoire with blankets, a bowl, and toys for your dog. The first dog in a room incurs a $15.00 per day pet fee. The second dog is charged $10.00 per day. More than 2 dogs in a room must be authorized in advance with the Innkeeper.

Azalea Room (king + daybed)
Also called the “country quilt room” because of many quilts used throughout the room, the Azalea Room offers a custom-built king bed which is accented by the original 22′ think outer stone wall onto which this room was built in the early 1900′s. This room sports a twin daybed for sitting or a third person, a skylight to let in the morning sun, cable TV and DVD player, and an antique writing desk/vanity. Any additional person (age 5 and older) over the double occupancy in the Azalea Room incurs an extra $20.00 per night charge.
The bathroom is small, but private and it includes a large tiled-in shower. Rounding out the modern, but country feel of the room is central heating and a/c. The color scheme in the Azalea Room is all country with light blues and browns.
We apologize; however, pets are NOT permitted in the Azalea Room.

Holly Room (queen)
The second-floor Holly Room receives the most enjoyment from the delicious smells of breakfasts cooking as it is positioned almost on top of the kitchen (but just far enough away to not be disturbed). This room was added to the main house in 1907 and was once used as the Innkeepers’ quarters. As such, it is tucked away from the other second-floor rooms and behind two doors for added privacy.
This room shows off its original hardwood floors plus a one of a kind painted glass window featuring a holly bush and cardinals, hand painted by one of artists featured in our Gift Shop. The room offers a queen size sleigh bed, a desk and chair and small sitting area. Adding to the uniqueness of this room’s closet is the childhood graffiti left by actress Andie McDowell whose grandmother once owned the house.
The full, private bathroom has a window featuring part of the original outer stone wall onto which this room was built. As with all of our other rooms in the main house, the room has cable TV and DVD player and wireless internet access. Lastly, just like our Azalea Room, you will enjoy the modern convenience of central heating and a/c in this oh, so cozy room.
The Holly Room has been decorated in greens, yellows, and golds for a light, soothing feel.
